Even though they are pricey, you tin can always pick up 1 or 2 these upwards around the house and link it with your hub 3000

Actually, you can't. The pods cannot exist registered if they are not rented from Bell. Bong will upgrade the firmware of Hub 3000 and you will utilise Bong app to setup the pods. That'due south the only way yous can utilise them.

I have a Homehub 3000 from Bell and I live in an apartment and I've been using the pods for about 2 years. The reason I got the pods is that I have an extra part in the edifice that I wanted to get Net in, but it's two floors down and on the opposite side of the stairs. So at that place's layers of physical between my apartment and my office. I tried getting a whole separate service for the part, only... Bell said they couldn't practice it (that is a LONG aggravating story in itself).
So I got the wifi pods a couple of years ago to extend the intern, and I have to say, they seemed to take worked not too badly. Occasionally so I lose the point for a short time still, which is frustrating because I want to livestream for Youtube (I do art demos).
I'm trying to find a meliorate option than the pods, so if anyone has whatsoever recommendations for something that would work improve, I'd love to know. It only has to reach most 100 feet or so, BUT... through layers of concrete!

All purely wireless range extenders/"mesh" wifi networks, regardless of brand or branding, provide poor performance. This is an inherent limitation of the technology; switching brands will not help.
The most effective solution for expanding wifi coverage is to install additional access points that connect to your router via wired Ethernet. The poor second choice to wired Ethernet is to install access points that connect to your router via powerline networking.

funny how many of these threads are popping upward recently.......
I switched to Virgin Mobile Net (FTTH) aka Bell a few weeks ago from Fido and below is my setup.
Plain my setup isn't for everyone.....y'all could probably go with the chief deco hardwired to your Bong HH3000 and have 1 or 2 pods connect wireless somewhere else in the business firm.
I'm getting potent wifi throughout with no dead spots & consequent speeds on wifi & hardwire
Notables beneath:
1. ~2800 sq ft with high ceilings in basement, main & 2d floor
2. Optical cable coming into basement
3. Bong HH3000 set up in basement
4. Lack of ethernet cables throughout the house simply plenty of coxial
v. I prefer my second floor office to have hardwired for my PC and peripherals but take wifi throughout
6. ~20 devices connect via Wifi (i.e. Google Nest doorbell, Kasa smart light switches, tablet, devices etc)
seven. Using TPlink Deco M9 Plus (3pk from amazon merely 3pk inventory is hit n miss - 2pk on sale for $199.99) https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-Smart-Who ... ics&sr=1-2
8. Using trendnet MoCa TMO-311c adapters = https://www.amazon.ca/TRENDnet-Ethernet ... ics&sr=1-2

Skilful mean solar day @ji2o0k ,
What'southward your take on this tweak to your setup above:
1. Moving everything y'all accept on 2nd floor to 'main flooring'
2. Supplant your main Deco in the diagram, with a WIFI 5 router (suggestions welcome) OR DECO 9 plus (2 pk)
iii. I have a Bong HH4000 instead setup in the basement
4. I as well just bought 2 x MOCA adapters 2.5ghz
5. Just 1 room on the 2nd floor (office) has a wall CAT 5/half-dozen outlet i.eastward. difficult wire pick
6. All other rooms including principal flr livingroom have coax outlets.
7. Fiber 500/500 coming into the house
Any adventure you tin put together a diagram for me of how to go about connecting please?
Cheers

some questions almost your requested setup above:
1. Moving setup from 2nd flr to main floor - how are y'all connecting to the main floor? MoCo? Wireless?
2. You could go with either a Wifi 5 router or Deco pod - depends on your wifi system you are thinking of
iv. What are y'all thinking to utilize the MoCa adapters for? The pods?
5. If your 2nd floor role has a CAT5/six outlet - I would use this outlet to connect via Ethernet to the HH4000 in the basement. Is this possible?
How big is your firm? Maybe a single powerful Wifi 5 router or 2pk Deco is enough for your wireless needs

Answer: This is what I plan to practise, and put another switch in the office, to connect smart Goggle box, printer, gaming PCsHow large is your house? Maybe a unmarried powerful Wifi 5 router or 2pk Deco is plenty for your wireless needs
Answer: 1700 sq ft. If I tin become a decent powerful wifi 5 router under $200, then I will get for that. Otherwise, it's the Deco ix plus 2pk (1 on main flr, 1 on 2nd flr)

thx - this is how I would gear up the network for your habitation.
The Bong HH4000 I think has four ethernet ports - allows yous to connect 1 ethernet cable to 2nd flooring office & you lot can use another ethernet port to run the MoCa adapter to the main floor
You lot accept two options depending on your wifi setup.
Option #i (Wifi v router)
- you can set up your Wifi v powerful router at red circle #2 spot (main floor) - that would hopefully provide you enough Wifi coverage for the entire house.
Option #2 (Deco M9 Plus pods)
- I would try with 1 Deco M9 Plus pod fix up on blood-red circle #ii spot on the primary floor. See if that provides enough Wifi coverage
- if not, you can set up upward 1 Deco pod at carmine circle #1 & some other at crimson circle #2. Both are wired backhaul to the HH4000 which is great. I would put the pods continued to the MoCa adapters & then the 5 port switches connected to the Deco every bit the Deco has 2 ethernet ports at the back

Much appreciated. Simply not certain there will be a wifi 5 router that can cover the whole firm i.e. 2d flr, master flr and basement. Best to get the Deco pods I recall

Attempt Tplink mesh arrangement. Dead easy to install. Forget repeaters and go with a make name mesh. I bought iii unit of measurement organization and just used ii because coverage was adequate.
They accept different versions, but i bought this one...

Yep......
Update to my postal service. I brought Bell back, and this time they sent an feel Tech who knew what they were doing. The HH4000 modem/router previously placed in the basement where the fiber line comes into the house early last calendar week, was relocated last Friday onto the main flooring Livingroom adjacent to the kitchen i.e. common gathering area.
I noticed the wifi on the 2nd flooring got stronger as I walked effectually with my cell. Signal was too god in the basement and hallway of the home / garage. Yet, once I stride onto the front end porch / driveway, I dropped down to one bar.
I purchased https://world wide web.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07NMZ ... UTF8&psc=i
prior to the modem relocation, merely it looks like I'll just render it to Amazon, and get the Deco M4 3 pk which is cheaper.

@samster125 or anyone else....
So I ended up buying this same 3 unit of measurement TP Link to employ with my HH4000 fiber from Bell. To brand things easier, I am opting to keep the hub (modem/router) every bit the unit that does DHCP and assigns IPs
How do I go about setting up the Deco M4 in access point mode i.due east. to only handle wireless functionality i.e. setup for wifi in the basement, primary floor and 2nd flooring???
The steps involved please outlined in like shooting fish in a barrel to follow
Annotation: The Bell HH4000 is located on the primary floor, and I have options to hard wired the 3 TP units in all the locations mentioned above.
Thank you
